2) What data we collect
FlashCardEasy is designed to work without creating a personal account. Your flashcards and word lists are stored locally on your device. The table below lists the data processed by the app and the service providers involved.

3) Why we collect this data
- To show ads that keep the free version of the app sustainable, and to measure/personalize those ads.
- To understand how the app is used and improve it.
- To detect, investigate, and fix crashes and stability issues.
- To process optional in-app subscriptions and restore them across reinstalls on the same device.
- To deliver optional push notifications.
- To let you create a word list automatically from a photo (an optional AI-powered feature you choose to use).
4) Ads and your choices (Advertising ID / App Tracking Transparency)
On iOS, before any ad-related tracking identifier (IDFA) is accessed, the app asks for your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, the app shows non-personalized ads instead. On Android, you can reset or opt out of interest-based advertising for your Advertising ID (AD_ID) in your device's Google Settings → Ads.
If you prefer not to see ads at all, the app offers an optional ad-free subscription.
5) Subscriptions and payments
If you choose to purchase a PRO subscription, the payment is processed securely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We use RevenueCat to manage your purchase entitlements. We do not have access to your credit card information or personal billing details.
6) Downloadable content
We use Firebase Storage to host and deliver optional downloadable word lists and dictionaries. When you choose to download one of these packs, your device connects to Firebase servers to retrieve the file. This is a one-way download — no personal data is sent to us as part of this feature.
7) Third-party services
We use the following third-party services, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob (ads) — policies.google.com/technologies/ads
- Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Authentication, Cloud Messaging, Storage) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- RevenueCat (subscription management) — revenuecat.com/privacy
- Google Gemini (AI text recognition for the optional "create word list from photo" feature) — ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms
- Apple App Store / Google Play (for processing payments)
8) Data sharing
We do not sell your data. The data listed in Section 2 is shared with the service providers above solely to provide their respective functions (advertising, analytics, crash reporting, authentication, notifications, subscription management, content delivery, and — only when you use the photo-scan feature — AI text recognition) on our behalf.
9) Data retention
Data processed by the third-party services above is retained according to their own retention settings. Local flashcard/word list data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
10) Data deletion requests
Since FlashCardEasy does not require a personal account, there is no in-app "account deletion" button. Instead, you can request deletion of the data we hold about your device at any time, either:
- from inside the app, via the menu option "Data deletion request" (opens a pre-filled email to us), or
- by emailing us directly at software.ekm@gmail.com with the subject "Data Deletion Request".
To help us locate relevant data, please include (optional): device model, Android/iOS version, and approximate date/time you started using the app.
What gets deleted, and how long it takes:
- We will delete your Firebase anonymous identifier, associated crash/diagnostic records (Crashlytics), analytics records (Firebase Analytics), advertising identifiers processed by AdMob for your device, and your RevenueCat subscription/purchase identifier, within 30 days of a verified request.
- Flashcards and word lists you created are stored only on your device; uninstalling the app deletes this data immediately and permanently — we never have a copy of it.
- Some data may be retained longer where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes (e.g. records our payment/ad providers must keep for accounting or compliance), or where it exists only in anonymized/aggregated form that cannot be tied back to your device.
11) Children's privacy
FlashCardEasy is not specifically directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12) International users
The app is available worldwide. Data may be processed by our service providers (Google/AdMob/Firebase, RevenueCat) in accordance with their systems and policies.
13) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
